The high school building project effectively kicked off in January 2012. Since then, the committee and member towns have been hard at work. Below are highlights and key milestones for the project, including community involvement and construction.

November 2018 Site and Field Work Complete  
July 25, 2018 Demolition of old building completed.
August 30, 2017 Students welcomed to the new building for first day of class! Welcome to the Class of 2020!
July 8, 2017 Abatement and internal demolition begins on old building.
July 7, 2017 District begins move-in to the new building.
June 4, 2015 Break ground on new building.
June 1, 2015 Award of Contract and Notice to Proceed with Construction.
April 8, 2015 Project completes Construction Documents (CD) phase.
December 5, 2014 Project enters Bid and Award phase.
October 6, 2014 Project completes Design Development (DD) phase and enters Construction Documents (CD) phase.
April 28, 2014 Project passes ballot votes in all three member towns, authorizing the construction phase of the new high school to begin.
March 2014 At town meetings, community members approve the warrant article to place the High School Building Project on April ballots, and approve both project alternates should bid savings be realized.

December 12, 2013 Committee submits Schematic Design package to MSBA
December 2012 SMMA selected as designer for high school building project
June 7, 2012 MSBA Invites NMRSD to Conduct a Feasability Study
April 11, 2012 Initial Building Committee Meeting
January 27, 2012 MSBA invites NMRSD to participate in high school building feasibility study.
2011 Based on continued building deficiencies, NEASC places NMRHS on probation.
2010 Regional expansion with Lunenburg evaluated; tours of other high schools conducted.
2007 – 2011 Based on engineering study outcome, NMRSD submits statements of interest to MSBA annually.
